Update : 05 Dec 2013, 06:20 AM

The Anti Corruption commission on Thursday has filed an appeal with the High Court challenging a lower court verdict that acquitted BNP senior vice president Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case.

The ACC panel Lawyer Khurshid Alam said they filed the appeal in the morning and it was officially registered with the High court.

Earlier on November 17, a Dhaka court acquitted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s elder son Tarique Rahman and sentenced his friend and business partner Giasuddin Al Mamun to seven years’ imprisonment in a money laundering case involving Tk204.1m.
