The 22nd death anniversary of eminent politician, language hero and an organiser during the Liberation War, Azizur Rahman is being observed on Wednesday.
To mark the day, his family members and followers have aggraded special prayers both in the capital and his birthplace Dinajpur.
He was born on November 1, 1920 in a respectable family at Mohammadpur village of Dinajpur district. He joined politics inspired by his father Moulana Akimuddin Sarker, who was involved with anti-British movements.
He was one of the close affiliates of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and was involved in the drafting of the 1972 constitution.
On this day in 1991, the commander of sector 6 (half) and 7 breathed his last and laid in rest at Sonapir graveyard in Dinajpur.
