Blockade supporters set three buses ablaze in the capital's Bangshal and Dhanmondi areas, Sunday morning.
The blockaders torched a bus by hurling crude bombs in the Bangshal intersection sometime around 10am.
Abdul Kuddus, officer-in-charge of Bangshal police station, told the Dhaka Tribune that none were injured in the incident as there were no passengers on the bus.
A firefighting unit from Sadarghat rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The blockaders also set off a number of crude bombs within the area.
Police fired rubber bullets to disperse the blockade supporters, said the OC.
Pickets torched two other passenger buses in Dhanmondi at 10:30am.
The opposition activists set a bus on fire at Dhanmondi 15, while another in front of Kakoli High School, using petrol.
Sources from the fire service control room said none were injured in the incidents as the passengers had managed to disembark the buses as soon as the pickets tried to torch it.
