Opposition supporters blockaded rail routes in Lalmonirhat, including the one linking the district to Dhaka, Saturday morning.
Roads were blockaded at various points and some vehicles were vandalised.
The incident occurred during a renewed 72-hour blockade programme by the BNP-led opposition 18-party alliance.
Lines were cleared with the help of police and paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) around 1:30pm, Lalmonirhat Railway GRP police Officer-in-Charge Shamsul Islam said.
A train was stranded during this time, he said.
Lalmonirhat-Burimari, Lalmonirhat-Rangpur, Lalmonirhat-Kurigram and Rangpur-Kurigram roads were blocakded at several points, witnesses said.
Witnesses said at least eight vehicles were vandalised at Saptibari, Mohendranagar, Shimultola and Bawra areas.
