Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has cancelled the Victory Day parade this year for polls-preparation and maintaining the law and order of the country.
The move comes amidst the loss of scores of lives in a spate of violence throughout the country over a political deadlock between the two main political parties.
Prime Minister's Office has issued a letter to this regard and forwarded it to the cabinet division, Cabinet Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told the Dhaka Tribune.
