Condition of another BCL leader Md Yiasin MOllah, 28, general secretary of Pachdona Union unit BCL, was also stated to be critical. He was rushed to DMCH.

Injured other BCL men were admitted to different hospitals in Narsinghdi.

Equipped with sharp weapons, a group of JCD activists swooped on the BCL men at around 8:30pm when they were staying in front of the Nur Hossain Girls High School in municipality area, said Pachdona UP Chairman Mizanur Rahman, also a local AL leader.

Khandaker Mahid Uddin, Superintendent of Police of Narsinghdi, confirmed the deaths of the BCL men as saying, “The attack was made on the BCL men by the activists of BNP and its front organisations.”

“However, we are yet to be sure of whether the incident was linked to the blockade programme or following any other issue”, the SP said adding; “Drives were on to identify and arrest the killers as well as the cause of the murder.”

Local sources said the BCL men came under the attack by the opposition men as the ruling party men had caught two JCD men and handed over them to police for allegedly arson to vehicles during the blockade programme.
