Two people were killed and another was injured when a truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Ahmadpur Bazar area under Boraigram upazila in the district early on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Shahin, 20, son of Saiful Islam of Boro Baroihati village in the district and Jashim, 25, son of Abdul Hamid of Dhanura village in Rajshahi. They are both cement traders.
A cement laden Rajshahi-bound truck plunged into a roadside ditch after the driver lost control of its steering in the Ahmadpur Bazar area at around 3:30am, killing two immediately and injuring the other.
Confirming the incident, Bonpara highway police station Officer-in-charge Masud Parvez said: “The bodies have been sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for post mortem examination. ”
Witnesses claimed the truck lost its control because of the pickets pickting in the area during the 60-hour blockade in the early hours of the day.
