A mother perished with her two children in a fire whilst they were slept inside their house in the village of Pachpukuriya in Sundarpur upazila in Fatikchhari, Chittagong on early Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Sumi Nath, 25, her daughter Barsha Nath, 3, and son Srabon Nath aged one and half years.
Sumi’s husband Milan Kumar Nath lives abroad.
The fire was started by a kitchen stove.
Officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan told the Dhaka Tribune that the bodies were in police custody.
Police will hand over the bodies to the family without post mortem as the family requested, he added.
