A woman succumbed to her injuries sustained during the violence of the 48-hour blockade in the early hours of Wednesday.
Anwara Begum Anu, 55, a staff of National Bank Malibagh branch, was hit on her head with a crude bomb hurled by pickets Tuesday afternoon.
She succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3:40am, DMCH police outpost Inspector Mozammel Hossain said.
This raises the death toll during the opposition-called nationwide blockade programme to eight.
BNP-led opposition 18-party alliance called the blockade after Election Commission announced the polls-schedule out of line with their demand.
