The cabinet that is expected to see the nation through to the next elected government sat for its maiden meeting on Monday morning.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the regular cabinet meeting in attendance of all other cabinet members.
The meeting is expected began at 12noon.
The newly formed 29-member polls-time cabinet, including the premier, includes eight new ministers and state ministers from the Jatiya Party, the Awami League and the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh.
The new ministers from the Jatiya Party are Rowshon Ershad, ABM Ruhul Amin Howladar and Anisul Islam Mahmud. Those from Awami League are Tofail Ahmed and Amir Hossain Amu. From the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh is Rashed Khan Menon.
Earlier on November 21, the reshuffled 28-member cabinet (excluding the prime minister) was published. A total of 28 ministers were effectively dropped.
