The move came months ahead of the upcoming national elections which is expected to be held by January.
Police headquarters confirmed the transfers to the Dhaka Tribune.
Former Sylhet police Commissioner Nibas Chandra Majhi was removed from his position and made the chief of tourist police unit.
Dhaka range police Additional Deputy Inspector General Mohammad Mizanur Rahman was made the new Sylhet police commissioner.
Additional DIG Shafiqul Islam of police headquarters was transferred to Dhaka range police.
Chuadanga police Superintendent Abdur Rahim Shah Chowdhury was removed and placed to the special branch (SB) of police.
Rangpur police training centre in-Charge Mohammad Rashidul Hasan was made the new Chuadanga police Superintendent.
