A person was injured in an explosion from his bag that he was carrying in Balurmath area of Mirpur Baribadh Saturday afternoon.
Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, 25, the injured, was admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
“A local BNP leader, Monir Hossain, gave me a bag to deliver it to his house in Balurmath area. There was an explosion from the bag when I tumbled at Balurmath,” said victim Shafiq.
Dr Enayet Hossain, duty officer of DMCH burn unit, said Shafiq sustained 18% burn injuries.
Shah Ali police station Officer-in-charge Selimuzzaman said they could not find any sample of explosives at the spot.
“We will try to reveal the incident after interrogating the victim,” said the OC.
