Bangladesh Road Transport Workers’ Federation (BRTWF) will enforce a 24-hour transport strike across the country today demanding the release of opposition leader Khaleda Zia’s Special Assistant Shimul Biswas.
The transport strike will begin at 6am today and end at 6am on Friday, said BRTWF General Secretary Osman Ali.
Police arrested Shimul Biswas, who is also joint general secretary of BRTWF, from in front of the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan residence in the early hours of November 9.
The strike was announced at a press conference of the federation in the capital on November 17, reports UNB.
