Three ministers did not join the cabinet meeting on Sunday.
The ministers are Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Foreign Minister Dipu and Commerce Minister GM Quader.
Home ministry informed that the minister could not join the meeting as he is staying in his constituency for election campaign while the foreign ministry said Dipu Moni missed the meeting for ensuring protocol to visiting US Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal.
The commerce ministry has informed that GM Quader could not join the cabinet meeting for “unavoidable circumstances.” Cabinet secretary M Mosharraf Hossain said this to reporters after the cabinet meeting.
Earlier, on Saturday, Commerce Minister GM Quader said he would not join Sunday’s cabinet meeting as his Jatiya Party thinks ministers, upon handing over of letters to the prime minister expressing intent to resign, have vacated the entire cabinet.
