Readymade garment workers (RMG) on Saturday morning staged demonstrations in Gazipur’s Konabari area demanding a hike in their production cost.
Some 500 workers of different sweater factories of the area staged demonstrations in front of several factories around 9am.
Later, the workers blocked Dhaka-Tangail highway and torched a human hauler at around 10am.
On information, police rushed to the spot and fired few rounds of tear shells and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
