Six people were killed in two separate road accidents in the district’s Shaistaganj municipality old market area and in Bahubal upazila on Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Quoting local sources, our Correspondent reports: A Sylhet-bound passenger bus ran over an auto-rickshaw after the driver lost control of the vehicle in the Shaistaganj municipality old market area around 9am, leaving four people dead on the spot.
In a separate incident, an oil-laden lorry rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the morning, leaving one person dead on the spot and injuring another.
The injured party was rushed to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
District fire service station officer Azizul Haque and Satgaon highway police confirmed the news.
