Jamaat-Shibir activists reportedly assaulted a photojournalist and vandalised his camera in Bogra Sadar on Wednesday, the last day of the opposition’s 84-hour hartal.
Mahitul Alam Milon, a photographer of the media cell of Pally Unnayan Academy, came under attack around 8:45am while taking photos of a Jamaat procession.
Milon told the Dhaka Tribune: “Jamaat men beat me up and broke my camera.”
Jamaat, the organisation that sided with Pakistan during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, is a key member of the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
