Eight vehicles were set on fire in Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong during the early hours of Wednesday, the last day of the opposition's 84-hour hartal.
The vehicles were trucks and covered vans attacked after midnight, Sitakunda police Offcer-in-Charge SM Badiuzzaman said. These vehicles are used for the transportation of foods and other goods.
Meanwhile police dispelled a pro-shutdown procession in the port city's Love Lane area at around 8:30am. Witnesses said a scuffle broke out at scene.
