A fire broke out at a high-rise commercial building in the city’s Motijheel area on Tuesday morning.
DM Forman Ali, officer-in-charge of Motijheel police station, said the fire originated on the 18th floor of the 21-story building at around 10:50am.
Eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame within 30 minutes, Nilufar Yasmin, a duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, told the Dhaka Tribune.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
