Rail communication between Kurigram and the rest of the country remains suspended as on Tuesday morning three compartments of a Kurigram bound train derailed at Tista junction.
Sazzad Hossain, an official of the Lalmonirhat railway division control room, told the Dhaka Tribune two compartments of the Ramna Express veered off the tracks at around 7:30am.
A salvage operation to rescue the derailed compartments and restore communication lines was ongoing.
