A fire broke out at a dyeing factory at Konabari in the city on Tuesday morning.
Akhtaruzzaman Liton, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the fire started in the chemical storehouse of Riyadh Dyeing at around 8:30am.
Four firefighting units from Gazipur city and Kaliakoir upazila rushed to the spot and had extinguished the flames by 9:30am, after an hour of hectic efforts.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
The extent of the losses from the fire has not been estimated yet.
