Two trains collide in Dinajpur, 50 injured

At least 50 people were injured when two trains collided head-on at Phulbari station in Dinajpur early on Tuesday.

Lalmonirhat rail division control room sources said the Khulna bound Simanta Express collided, at around 3:30am, with the Dinajpur bound Akota Express which was sitting at Phulbari station. 50 people were injured.

Four critically injured casualties have been admitted to the Dinajpur Medical College Hsopital, while 12 others were sent to the Phulbari hospital.

A relief train from Parbatipur Railway Station went to the spot and was continuing salvage operation since 9:30am.
