Four people died when a truck careered out of control and plunged into a ditch in Sirajganj early on Monday.
Police said the truck lost one of its tyres and the driver then lost control on the Salanga area of the Hatikumrul-Banpara highway. The incident happened after Sunday midnight.
Hatikumrul highway police Officer-in-Charge Ali Farid Ahmad said the driver and two others died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
The official could not provide the identities of the deceased in initial reports.
The bodies were being kept at Sirajganaj Sadar Hospital.
It was not clear if the incident was related to the ongoing 84-hour nationwide shutdown of the BNP-led opposition 18-party alliance.
