At least 10 people were injured in clashes between Jamaat-e-Islami / Chhtra Shibir members and the police in the capital’s Moghbazar area during the 84-hour countrywide hartal on Sunday morning.
Police and witnesses said Jamaat and Shibir members were locked in clashes with the law enforcers in front of Titumeer College in Moghbazar during the morning, leaving five people injured.
Meanwhile, five others were injured in a chase and counter chase between Jammat / Shibir members and police at Modhubagharea in Moghbazar.
The opposition alliance on Friday announced a 72-hour hartal. Later it extended the hartal for another 12 hours, protesting the arrest of senior BNP leaders on Friday night.
