A man was killed in the port city on Sunday morning when pro-hartal activists chased a tempo he was travelling in through Madunaghat under Hathazari upazila.
Deceased Nirmol Sen, 30, was an employee of the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC).
Jahirul Islam, in-charge of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital outpost, confirmed the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said a tempo went off the road as pickets chased the vehicle in the Madunaghat area at around 8am, leaving Nirmol Sen critically injured.
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead on his arrival.
