A student of Motijheel Ideal School and College was killed on Friday, when a bus rammed the rickshaw she was on – near the capital’s Shapla intersection.
The deceased, Kaniz Fatema Tasnim, 17, daughter of Abdul Khalek Hawlader, was returning home after sitting for her college second-year term final examinations.
Witnesses said a bus rammed the rickshaw at around 4:45pm, leaving Kaniz and three others injured.
Kaniz died after she was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the death to the Dhaka Tribune, DMCH police outpost Inspector Mozammel Haque said the three others who were injured were out of danger.
The police have seized the bus that killed Kaniz, but the driver fled, he added.
