The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conferred ActionAid Bangladesh the “Lighthouse Initiatives 2013” award on Wednesday for its success in empowering rural women and role of the women to face climate change risks at community level, said a press release.
A total of 17 climate change adaptation initiatives from 13 countries received the prestigious award this year under the “Momentum for Change” initiative for their outstanding contribution to climate change adaptation.
