2 TV cameraperson hurt in Ctg explosion

Two cameramen of two private television channels were injured in crude bomb explosion at Station Road in the port city on the second day of the 60-hour countrywide hartal on Tuesday, reports UNB. 

The injured were identified as Shamsul Alam Babu, 35, a cameraperson of Channel i and Mohammad Hasan Ullah, 35, a cameraperson of Desh TV. 

Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mirza Sayem Mahmud said a procession, led by city BNP president Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and general secretary Sahadat Hossain, was brought out from Kazir Deuri area in the morning. 

When the procession was marching towards Station Road area two crude bombs went off, leaving the two TV cameramen injured, he said. 

Miscreants hurled the crude bombs from the rooftop of a building. 

Besides, 7 crude bombs were exploded in different parts of the city during the shutdown while the hartal supporters torched a CNG run auto-rickshaw at Khalur Ghotta in Rangunia upazila. 

Meanwhile, at least 27 people, including nine policemen, were injured in a clash with police at Baroiahat in Mirsarai upazila. Police arrested 14 people from the spot.
