A worker died while trying to flee from pickets in the Gurudaspur upazila of Natore on Monday morning during the opposition's 60-hour nationwide hartal.
The deceased was idenfitied as Ishaque Ali, 40, son of Khaimuddin from Sirajganj.
Banpara highway police Officer-in-Charge Pervez Islam said Ishaque sustained injuries while fleeing as his truck was being chased by pickets in the Nayabazar area adjacent to Aimari bridge.
On duty doctors declared him dead after he'd been taken to Natore Adhunik Sadar Hospital. “The body is being kept at the hospital morgue,” said Pervez.
This is the third casualty of the day caused by shutdown related violence.
