It seems to be raining biopics in Bollywood. Paan Singh, Milkha Singh, and Shahid Azmi are some of the people on whom biopics were made in recent times.
Now, Farhan Akhtar will act in a biopic once again, after playing Milkha Singh in “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.” This time, Farhan will play the role of the writer-poet Sahir Ludhianvi.
Ashi Dua, who produced the movie “Bombay Talkies,” will be producing this movie which portrays the life of Sahir Ludianvi. Jasmeet Reen, a debutante director, will direct the film.
No other details have been revealed yet, but a source says Farhan will also sing some of Sahir’s timeless verses. “The film will focus on the poetry and the love between Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam. They shared a stormy relationship that lasted for decades. Farhan is the natural choice for the role since his father is a poet and Farhan himself writes poetry,” the source added.
