BGB recovers 8,000 yaba tablets from salt-laden truck, arrests three

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arresting three people after seizing 8,000 yaba tablets from a truck apparently laden with salt at Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, on Friday.

The yaba tablets were discovered when the BGB members searched the vehicle at a check post in Whoaikonk, Teknaf.

The three detainees were Dulal Kanti (35), son of Pulin Kanti from Anwara of Chittagong; Jahangir Alam (25), son of Ali Ajgar from Whoaikonk in Teknaf; and Jasim Uddin (29), son of Hossain Ali from Balu Khali of Ukhia.

Major Shafiqur Rahman, acting captain of 42 BGB at Teknaf said acting on a tip-off, the yaba was recovered while searching a salt-laden truck (Chittagong Metro 11-3732).

A case has been lodged with the Teknaf police station in this regard.
