In a recent list of most popular celebrities by Times of India and Zoom!, the Kapoor cousins Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor topped the list of the most popular celebrities male and female respectively.
Interestingly, at the second spot on both the lists are Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Ranbir Kapoor’s popularity soared through the list because of the promotional events of his movie “Besharam;” the pre-diwali party in New York which he attended with his parents; his popular endorsements and his other movies “Jagga Jasoos” and “Bombay Velvet.”
Shahid Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh gained significantly and moved up to single digit ranks because of their respective movies “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero” and “Grand Masti.”
New entrants in the top 50 are, Sharman Joshi at number 35 due to promotions of “War Chhod Na Yaar,” Boman Irani at number 36 due to his role in “Happy New Year” and Kamal Haasan at number 40 due to “Vishwaroopam 2.”
