A seven-year-old boy was burnt alive in a fire that broke out at Goalbatan village under Singra upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Rahul.
Locals said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the house of Moyez Uddin at about 10:30 pm and soon engulfed three other adjoining houses.
All the house inmates except Rahul, who was then asleep, managed to come out.
Later locals doused the flame and recovered the charred body of Rahul.
