Activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, set seven crude bombs off targeting motorbikes of Chhatra League activists in Barapole area of Halishahar upazila in the port city Tuesday morning.
UK Singh, assistant commissioner of Dubblemuring circle of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, confirmed the news with the Dhaka Tribune.
The crude bombs went off amid blasts and clashes across the country on the third and final day of BNP’s 60-hour hartal.
Meanwhile, four crude bombs were set off on Port Connecting road in the same area around 1:15pm.
