I love to be a judge: Ayub Bachchu

Update : 26 Oct 2013, 05:09 PM

Ayub Bachchu earlier appeared as a judge in different TV talent hunt shows including Benson and Hedges Star Search 1 and 2, and D Rockstar 1. Now, once again, he has become the talk of the town as a member of the judging panel of the ongoing reality show “Bangladeshi Idol.”

The leading man behind the band LRB, Ayub Bachchu, talks about the recent scenario of talent hunt shows to Dhaka Tribune: “I love being a part of the judging panel in such programmes. It is always refreshing to get to know the young talents.”

However, a recent incident at “Bangladeshi Idol” made disputes about the rock star’s opinion as a judge of the show. In a recent episode he loudly criticised a participant after he gave his performance. Later, the fans of the performers posted abusive comments about the veteran musician on different social networking sites. Ayub Bachchu, on the next episode, clarified that he scolded the participant as a guide just as he does it to his son. However, he expressed anguish over the offensive comments made by “so called” fans of the participant.

While asked about the event, Bachchu said he does not want to think about it further and emphasised on moving forward with the positive sides of the show. “The participants are very impressive. I believe we will find a real committed singer through this reality show. Whoever wins the title of ‘Bangladesh Idol,’ he or she will do something remarkable in the music industry.”

On audience voting system, the rock icon shares:  “After all singers sing for the audience, they will choose their star. As judges, we can show the participants the right path for their future journey and suggest them how to improve.”

“But, they have to remember that this is only the beginning. A much bigger platform is waiting where they have to work for the industry and the mass people. Honesty, hard work and commitment will be needed on bigger scale,” he shared his message for the youngsters.
