Iconic film actor-director Razzak and veteran film journalist Rezanur Rahman were honoured with Fazlul Haque Memorial Award 2013 at a city hotel on Saturday.
Writer and widow of Fazlul Haque, Rabeya Khatun and popular writer Abdullah Abu Sayeed handed over the awards to the awardees.
Fazlul Haque Memorial Award is given away every year in memory of late Fazlul Haque who was a pioneering cine-journalist and director of “President”, the first film for children. His wife, renowned litterateur Rabeya Khatun initiated the award in 2004. Each year the awards are given away to two individuals for cine-journalism and filmmaking.
The event was well attended by cultural personalities, journalists, family members, poets, well-wishers and family members of Fazlul Haque.
As his reaction, Razzak said at the programme: “This is my first award as a film director. I am overwhelmed.”
