Five cocktail bombs were exploded in the Love Lane crossing and Naval Avenue areas adjacent to the BNP party office in Chittagong on Saturday evening.
BNP activists brought out brisk processions to join a rally at their party office in support of the 60-hour hartal called by the 18-party alliance.
The explosions took place when the processions reached the Love Lane crossing and Naval Avenue areas around 4:30pm.
Mirza Sayem Mahmud, assistant commissioner of Kotwali Circle of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
