BNP-led 18-party alliance has got conditional permission for holding rallies in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Bogra and Khulna districts on Friday.
Apart from the capital, the opposition alliance has planned to hold rallies in different districts demanding elections under a non-partisan interim government earlier.
Awami League has also announced various programmes. In this circumstance, the local administration in different districts imposed ban on public gathering in certain areas. But, the opposition men earlier announced that they would stage their Friday’s rally defying all types of ban.
Our Barisal Correspondent reports: Barisal district 18-party men staged its pre-scheduled demonstration in front of the Jail Gate despite of the ban. No report of any unpleasant incident has been filed till filing the report at about 12:15pm.
Our Satkhira Correspondent reports: The district unit opposition leaders and activists staged a protest rally in Kodomtoli Bazar area of the district at about 9am.
The government has asked the administration to take all-out security measures in this situation. Scores of activists of the opposition alliance were detained in different districts ahead of the protest.
