Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the port city Chittagong on Thursday morning, to maintain law and order in the area ahead of the rally to be held at Laldighi Maidan on October 25.
Four platoons of BGB were deployed to assist the law enforcing agencies in maintaining law and order in the city around 6am.
Banaz Kumar Majumder, additional commissioner (crime and operation) of CMP confirmed the matter.
Earlier on Wednesday, CMP imposed an indefinite ban on public rallies and processions in the port city from today, on the backdrop of the programme announcements made by the two major parties.
