Two children were killed and seven others injured in separate lightning strikes in Garjania and Kacchapia unions under Ramu upazila of the district Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Rojina Aktar, 8, daughter of Hason Ali, and Rahima Khatun Babuni, 6, daughter of Abdul Hakim.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals.
Ramu police station Officer-in-charge Appela Raju Naha confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the incidents.
Lighting hit Rojina when she was going home from school while Babuni was struck by the havoc when she was playing outside their house, said the OC.
