Two alleged robbers were killed and another was injured in a lynch-mob attack in Binodpur area on Dutterhat-Banderhat Road in the sadar upazila early Monday morning.
Mir Jahidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sudharam police station, said locals chased off a group of robbers while preparing to commit a robbery in the area around 4:00am.
Three robbers were caught by locals who gave them a severe beating, leaving two dead on the spot and another critically injured.
The injured, Sohel, 32, son of Nurul Islam of Char Karmullah in the sadar upazila, was admitted to the Noakhali Medical College Hospital.
