On the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, Nazrul exponent Ferdous Ara launched an album featuring her “best” songs titled “Amar Shera” on Thursday. The album launching ceremony was held at the Ramna Restaurant in the capital.
The eminent Nazrul singer shares with Dhaka Tribune: “I have selected all these songs on the basis of popularity and my personal taste. Songs of different moods, like romance, melancholy, festive, season-based and many more have been included in the album. I am expecting a good response from my audience and fans.”
The album has been produced by Impress Audio Vision and contains three CD’s that present 49 timeless Nazrul songs.
She adds: “I have been singing from early ‘70s and hope to continue my career for many more years. Hope I will be able to release my ‘best of the bests’ album in the future too.”
Ferdous Ara has been a regular artiste of Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television since 1973 and 1974 respectively and has earned desirable reputation in the field of music on account of her imaginative excellence. Many cassettes and CDs of her music have been released during her long musical career. Last she released a solo album named “Bhalobashi Nazrul” marking the birth anniversary of the celebrated rebel poet.
In 1985, Sargam released her first cassette comprising of 12 Nazrul songs while in 1986 Nazrul Institute brought out her long play and cassette. Besides, 10 more cassettes on Modern Bangla songs were subsequently released that gained instant popularity among the music lovers across the world.
