The Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and Reporters Against Corruption (RAC) 0n Wednesday urged to pass the Anti-Corruption Commission (amendment) bill in the current parliamentary session.
The demand was made at a bilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing programme on Wednesday in the TIB office.
“It is inevitable to amend the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004 in the last session of the ninth parliamentary session in order to make the commission fast and active. We demand the Jatiyo Sangsad would take effective actions in this regard for the sake of fulfilling the electoral pledges of the government,” a press release quoted the speakers as saying.
TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman and RAC President Mizan Malik signed the MoU with a commitment to work together to combat corruption.
