Prosecution accepts verdict

Update : 09 Oct 2013, 07:42 AM

The prosecution was satisfied with the imprisonment unto death verdict against former BNP minister Abdul Alim.

Justice Obaidul Hassan-led International Crimes Tribunal 2 found Alim guilty of nine among 17 charges. The verdict was given in consideration of health status.

Prosecutor Rana Dasgupta said that the depth of the crimes committed deserved the highest punishment.

However, he added that the prosecution would accept the verdict.

Prosecution spokesperson Zead Al Malum added there was no scope to deny that the verdict given was beyond the law.

Meanwhile, it was still unclear if the prosecution would appeal against the verdict as Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said decisions will be taken after reading the full verdict.
