Ganajagaran Mancha had taken position at Shahbagh Wednesday morning ahead of the war crimes verdict on former BNP minister Abdul Alim.
Dhaka Tribune DU Correspondent reported that Ganajagaran Mancha took their position around 10am.
They were chanting slogans demanding capital punishment of Abdul Alim.
Among those present were Imran H Sarker, Maruf Rasool and blogger Badhon.
Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson, Imran, said Abdul Alim had 17 charges of war crimes against him including, three mass murder and others.
“Ganajagaran Mancha and this nation hopes for the highest punishment of Abdul Alim,” he said.
Ganajagaran Mancha was formed on February 5 dissatisfied with the tribunal verdict on Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Molla.
Since then, the platform had been staging demonstrations demanding capital punishment of war criminals and a ban on the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami.
