A youth was killed when a speeding bus ran him over on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Konabari area of the district early Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Salna Highway police outpost in-charge Md Alamgir Hossain said the bus ran over the youth at about 12:30am while he was crossing the highway, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police later recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue.
A case was filed with Joydebpur police station in this connection.
