Two cases have been filed with Kulshi police station in Chittagong for Monday’s explosion at the madrasa run by Hefazat leader Mufti Izharul Islam.
Mainul Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday morning.
SI Golam Newaz of Kulshi station filed one case under the explosives act, accusing 12 people including Mufti Izhar and his son Harun bin Izhar, a literature and training secretary with Hefazat-e-Islam; and another case under the acid act, accusing Izhar and Harun.
On Monday, a massive explosion rocked Jamiatul Uloom Al-Islamia Lalkhan Bazar, a Qawmi madrasa run by senior nayeb-e-ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Mufti Izharul Islam, leaving at least four persons critically injured and one dead.
