The non-cadre assistant secretaries and class-II officers such as administrative officers and personal officers of the civil administration, who hold law degrees, formed a new organisation called “Law Degree-Holder Officers Association” on Saturday.
Finance Division’s Assistant Secretary Abdul Khaleque and Law and Justice Division’s Personal Officer Fazlur Rahman were elected as the organisation’s convener and member secretary respectively while Sultan Ahmed and Selina Sultana was elected as joint convener.
The decision of forming the new association has been taken in a meeting held at Dhaka, told Abdul Khaleque.
The members of the 17-member convening committee are -- Kazi Azizul Haque, Taiyab Ali, Anisur Rahman, Ms Ibtisam Chowdhury, Kaizi Nazrul Islam, Tapas Kumar Bhowmik, Imam Hossain, Nasiruddin Khan, Moyajjen Hossain, Khalilur Rahman, Gouranga Chandra Mohanta, AKM Mazharul Islam and Aslam Moral.
Khaleque said that the new association has decided to place their demand for giving a special increment for law-holder officers and allow them to participate in the test of Bar Council to get a legal practitioner certificate.
