A single episode drama, “Saudi Riyal,” airs on Thursday at 8:25pm on Channel 9. Written and directed by Rajibul Islam Rajib, the drama features Anisur Rahman Milon, Momo, Faruk Ahmed and others.
Altaf is a government employee and a married man. His lifestyle is that of a simple man and he lives in a humble dwelling. The commute from his home to office is quite tough as it is difficult to get transportation from his home.
Therefore Altaf hires a rickshaw on a permanent basis to make it easier for him to travel back and forth from his office.
One day, the rickshaw puller gives Altaf a Saudi riyal note to exchange into Bangladeshi taka. Altaf helps the rickshaw puller and converts it into taka for his benefit. The rickshaw puller shows his gratitude by sharing with Altaf that he has a bag full of Saudi riyals that two passengers dropped by mistake.
He then offers Altaf all the riyals in return for Tk 5,00,00. Altaf suffers from uncertainty and demands that the rickshaw puller shows him the
bag. After fulfilling his curiosity, he gives in to temptation and takes the bag full of riyals from the rickshaw puller for Tk 5,00,00. He gets a big shock when he tries to change all the riyals into taka as the entire sum of riyals given to him is fake.
