After the verdict was delivered against War Criminal Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury, a spate of satisfaction came down among the freedom fighters and local Awami league leaders in Raozan upazila, where the ancestral home of the convicted was situated.
They have distributed sweets and brought out processions immediately after the verdict was delivered.
Expressing satisfaction over the verdict, local Awami League leaders said they wanted the verdict to be executed within the tenure of the incumbent government.
They also brought out a motorbike showdown in the area.
Freedom Fighter Kiron Lal Acharya claimed that Salahuddin Quader and his father led the mass killing drives during the war. He also demanded that Goods Hill should be declared a killing field.
Our Correspondents said tight security measures have been taken in the upazila to avert any untoward situation following the verdict.
